Shabir Noori is an accomplished opening bat who has represented Afghanistan in ODI (10), T20I (1), and Asian Cricket Council (12) matches.

A schoolboy prodigy, such was Noori’s talent, he was fast-tracked to the national squad as a 17-year-old, following two years with the Under-19s.

He made his international debut in November 2009, then a few months later scored 84 and 21 on his first-class debut against Ireland in Dambulla. Noori would go on to represent his country for the next 4-years but failed to cement his spot and was subsequently dropped in 2014.

Unfortunately, despite his talent, Noori hasn’t returned to the national fold but over the past decade has continued to ply his trade in domestic cricket.

In recent seasons, the former teenage sensation has matured and has become a heavy run-scorer in first-class cricket, and List A cricket. During the most recent first-class tournament, he racked up 379 runs at 42.11 (2023), to back up his prolific List A campaign in 2022 (148 runs at 49.33).

The run machine, who doubles as a handy off-spinner, is now looking at global opportunities over the next few years. A player that comes highly recommended, not only as a cricketer, but a top guy, Noori is a fantastic professional available for any club in future.
