Nisar Wahdat is a phenomenal batting talent recommended by none other than fellow Afghan star Zia-Ur-Rehman Akbar.
A top-order batter of some pedigree, Wahdat represented Afghanistan at Under-19 level, winning the Asia Cup (2017), and helping his side to the ICC Under-19 World Cup semi-finals (2018).
He broke into first-class cricket whilst in his teens and hasn’t looked back. After a solid maiden Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-Day campaign in 2017/18 (453 runs at 34.84), he would dominate the first-class run charts the following summer. He enjoyed a breathtaking season, particularly in the Mirwais Nika Provincial Tournament, topping the run charts with 653 runs at 93.28 with 3 centuries, and highest score of 262.
Unfortunately, COVID struck as Wahdat was pressing for national honours, but he returned for 2 matches in November 2021 hitting a century (116) for Band-e-Amir Region.
During the most recent Ahmad Shah Abdali season (August 2023), Wahdat continued to excel, hitting a further 301 runs at 37.62 taking his overall first-class tally to 1,798 runs at 44.95.
The run machine, who has also featured in T20 cricket for Boost Defenders and Hindukush Stars, is now keen to play abroad in 2025.
