Ikram Alikhil is a sensational prospect who is currently the Test and ODI wicket-keeper batter for Afghanistan.
The gloveman, who doubles as an outstanding batter, made his Test debut for Afghanistan against the touring Irish side in March 2019.
His selection was based on an outstanding ICC Under-19 World Cup a few months earlier (Jan 2019), which happened to be his second evidencing his promise.
Alikhil scored 86 against the West Indies, and, in doing so, broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the highest score by an 18-year-old at a U19 World Cup.
His success came as no surprise – he’d previously scored 107* during the 2017 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup final against Pakistan, helping Afghanistan to their maiden ACC U19 Cup title.
