Prayash Singh is a talented all-rounder who made a significant impact on the Indian domestic cricket scene during the 2022/23 season.
He marked his return to one-day cricket for Odisha in November 2022 with impressive figures of 4/51, which paved the way for his Ranji Trophy debut the following month. In that debut match against Haryana, he picked up 3/66.
The New Year brought further success, as Singh smashed his maiden first-class century—an outstanding 104 off 141 balls against Nagaland. Batting at number 8, he showcased his prowess with 15 boundaries and a six, sharing a 158-run partnership with fellow CricX client Shantanu Mishra.
Continuing his stellar form, Singh came close to back-to-back centuries in his next match, scoring a gutsy 73 off 101 balls against a formidable Himachal Pradesh side.
By the end of the 2022/23 Ranji season, Singh had accumulated 237 runs at an average of 39.50. In white-ball cricket, he also impressed, taking 12 wickets at 30.41 in List A matches and 5 wickets at 19.20 in T20s.
Unfortunately, the following season proved challenging, with limited opportunities in red-ball cricket and a modest performance for Odisha. This led to him missing out on a State contract for the 2024/25 season.
Despite this setback, Singh remains a highly capable all-rounder, as evidenced by his two successful UK stints with Skelmanthorpe in the Drakes Huddersfield Premier League. Across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, he amassed 1,237 runs at an average of 28.11 and claimed 105 wickets at 20.65.
Endorsed by Indian cricket legend Wasim Jaffer, Singh is now eager to explore new opportunities for the 2025 season. He plans to base himself in High Wycombe, where he will reside with his British fiancée during the UK summer, and is looking to continue his cricketing journey in that area.
