Quick is delighted to announce their kiwi star Cameron Jackson will return to the club for their 2023 Dutch Hoofdklaase campaign.
Jackson is an exciting prospect coming through the Otago ranks in New Zealand cricket.
A hard-hitting batter in the top order who keeps wicket, Jackson has represented Otago age groups and has been part of the Volts ‘A’ side for the past four seasons.
Jackson was the Otago U17 skipper (2017/18), and U19 vice-captain (2019), who featured in three National Under-19 Tournaments (he was Otago’s leading run-scorer and 4th overall during the 2019/20 edition).
At club level, he plays for Taieri in the Dunedin Premier Grade Competition, where he has starred. He topped the club’s run charts in 2020/21 (522 runs at 58) and finished 6th overall, including 3 Premier centuries.
The left-handed batter has also been a key performer for Otago Country in New Zealand’s Hawke Cup competition with season averages of 30.83 (2019/20), and 30.57 (2020/21), which is a sound effort given the nature of the pitches in the deep south.
Jackson is quite the prospect who will be pushing for full Otago honours throughout the 2022/23 domestic season. Thereafter, the keeper/batter will return to Dutch club H.V. & C.V. Quick after a barnstorming 2022 season with The Hague-based club.
Jackson topped the Hoofdklasse run charts with 653 runs at 72.56 including a century and 3 scores in the 90s. It’s no wonder the club was eager to retain their kiwi star for a second stint in 2023.
