James Anson (27) is a talented quick from England who currently plays for Driffield Town CC in the highly competitive Yorkshire Premier League North.
The Right-arm seamer boasts an impressive record for Driffield taking 215 wickets at 20 since signing in 2019. His time at the club has been a successful one with promotion coming in his first season and a maiden premier League title for the club in 2022. During this period of success James has lead from the front as the leading wicket taker during his time at the club.
At the end of the successful 2022 season James decided he wanted to improve further which lead him in the direction of the National Fast Bowling Academy. Under the guidance of the NFBA coaches including Former South African fast bowler André Nel, James has improved his action resulting in an increase in speed where he is now reaching around 85mph. The quick also made his Yorkshire County Cricket Club 2nd XI debut in 2023.
The quick spent the 2023/24 season in Melbourne playing for Buckley Ridges in the Dandenong & District Cricket Association, where he impressed for the 1st and 2nd Grade sides (had to play half the games in the 2nd XI due to player points) taking 30 wickets at 14.
Anson is now keen to return to Australian shores this winter. A huge talent and one we see excelling for a club. James will be travelling with his partner so will need suitable accommodation.
