CricX are excited to confirm Napier Old Boys Marist Cricket Club’s double signing of Ben Harris and Nathan Kenworthy for their upcoming 2023/24 campaign.
Firstly, Ben is a confident and capable stumper. The 20-year-old claimed 33 catches, 18 stumpings and 4 runouts during his remarkable 2022 campaign for Honley’s 1st XI in the strong Huddersfield Premier Cricket League. This backs up his 19 catches, 14 stumpings and 1 run out in 2021.
The gloveman is also a handy lower order batsman, capable of chipping in when required, this is part of the game that he is continuously working on, and would love the opportunity to bat up the order this UK season and whilst away this winter. Not only a more than exciting player, Harris is also a keen and qualified coach, who is eager to part of a clubs coaching structure when away!
Secondly, Nathan is a genuine all-rounder who is making a name for himself in the Huddersfield Drakes League, Nathan currently plays at boyhood side Almondbury Wesleyans Cricket Club. After graduating through the clubs junior pathway the right-handed top-order batter, who also opens the bowling, thrives under pressure and is very comfortable in such situations.
A right-arm seamer, Kenworthy chipped in with 14 vital wickets during the 2022 season, including a much-needed 3/30 to get his team over line in one particular game. With the bat, the youngster racked up over 500 runs including 2x50s and a huge 102* off 114 Balls. Also, the plucky Northerner prides himself in his fielding abilities. He honed his skills during his time in the Yorkshire Academy, and the fruits of his labour showed last year with some key catches in big moments last season.
We would like to wish Ben, Nathan and everyone at Napier Old Boys Marist CC the best of luck for their upcoming season.
