Conisbrough is pleased to confirm their favourite Sri Lankan, Buddhika Sanjeewa, will return to the club for a fourth stint in 2024.

Sanjeewa is an experienced seam-bowling all-rounder playing for Badureliya Sports Club.

A veteran of 120 plus domestic matches dating back to his List A debut in 2007, Sanjeewa boasts an impressive record, particularly in white-ball cricket.

In 35 T20 matches, he averages 19.82 with an incredible strike rate of a wicket every 15.3 balls. It’s a similar trend in List A cricket, with an average of 24.35 and an economy of 5.05 in his 42 games.

In his 46 first-class matches, he has 82 wickets at 43.43 with 2 five-wicket bags and a top score of 50.

Sanjeewa has enjoyed success abroad, playing two successive seasons down under for Cowaramup in the Margaret River Cricket Association, before three stints with UK club Conisbrough between 2021 and 2023.

In 2016/17, he dominated the MRCA, taking 63 wickets at 8.27 before backing up with a further 29 wickets at 9.03 the following season.

Over the past three seasons (2021-23) playing in the Championship Division of the Cricket Yorkshire Southern Premier League, he has starred hitting 2,095 runs at 29.10 alongside 183 wickets at 19.13.

Unfortunately, Conisbrough suffered relegation in 2023, but Sanjeewa has re-signed for another stint to avenge relegation in a view to securing promotion for the club in 2024.
