Cam Fletcher is an exciting wicket-keeper batter playing for the Auckland Aces and toured England with the Blackcaps in 2022.
Since his first-class / List A debut’s in February 2013, Fletcher has played over 300 matches across the three formats, where he has excelled.
He has notched up well over 8,000 domestic runs with an average in the mid-30s in these matches and his stocks continue to rise courtesy of his success in recent years.
In red-ball cricket, he has racked up several 500 plus run seasons in recent years, namely 506 runs at 31.62 (2017/18), 517 runs at 47.00 (2018/19), and 586 runs at 65.11 (2020/21), not to mention 278 runs at 55.60 in the latest 2024/25 season.
Prior to his move to Auckland for the 2023/24 season, Fletcher was a key performer for Canterbury in white-ball cricket, with season List A / T20 averages of 25.16 / 68.75 (2017/18), 38.00 / 42.00 (2018/19), 34.00 / 58.00 (2019/20), 78.00 / 31.50 (2020/21), 7 / 43.57 (2021/22), and 23.20 / 29.80 (2022/23), respectively.
Fletcher has been rewarded for his domestic exploits in recent years. He has been Canterbury's “Player of the Year”, “Batter of the Year” and “Player’s Player of the Year”, and has featured in New Zealand Winter Training Squad's and 'A' sides. In fact, he scored a century for New Zealand A against the touring Indian A side in November 2018.
The ex Canterbury, now Auckland star (and often skipper) is now set on a UK return in 2025 having previously enjoyed success with Golcar (2013), Sandwich Town (2019), and New Farnley (2023-24) previously. During his 2023 stint, he also picked up 3-matches with Glamorgan in the Vitality Blast campaign, following an outstanding season in the Bradford League (1,216 runs at 86.86). In 2024 he was picked up on a contract for the T20 blast by Derbyshire, playing 5 games for the county.
Fletcher is not only a high class player, but a brilliant bloke to boot, whose progress we look forward to tracking when he plays for Bishop's Stortford in the Hertfordshire League this summer.
