Throughout his illustrious career, Thampi has nudged international selection. He was a regular feature for India A, and several Duldeep Trophy sides pre COVID.
Thampi is widely recognised as a State legend for the star-studded State side, Kerala. He has played for the State throughout his career, and is a player that comes highly recommended by former Indian quick, and current Kerala bowling coach, Tinu Yohannan who states:
“Basil is an athletic, strong, and very deceptive bowler. He has a round-arm action where he can really get the ball to move. He can reverse the old ball”.
Having not played club cricket abroad previously, Thampi has targeted the 2025 season to make his maiden appearance. An incredible signing for any club side who want a top class quick, who doubles as a very useful batter, boasting a couple of first-class fifties.
