Australia & New Zealand – Visas & Entry
You’ll need to apply for an Australian or New Zealand visa, and we recommend submitting your application well in advance of your travel date. There are two primary visa options available:
Working Holiday Visa
If you intend to take on paid work during your time in Australia or New Zealand, you’ll need to apply for a Working Holiday Visa before you depart. This visa allows British citizens to live and work for up to 12 months in Australia, and 36 months in New Zealand. It’s the most popular choice for players.
To apply for a Working Holiday Visa you will need:
- a passport from the UK or another eligible country, valid for 6 months after your planned return date, and with at least two clean pages remaining.
- to be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- to apply for your visa at least 4 weeks before departure.
- to apply online from outside Australia or New Zealand.
- to evidence sufficient funds to cover living costs whilst abroad, normally a minimum of £3,000.
- an onward or return airline ticket.
* Note: Subject to immigration rules, British citizens can apply for Second and Third Australian Working Holiday visas for additional 12-month periods.
