Umar Waheed is an accomplished professional cricketer currently playing for Larkana in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy – Pakistani’s first-class competition.

A right-handed batter and off-spin bowler, Waheed has been a reliable performer on Pakistan’s domestic circuit for over a decade. At the point of writing (04/11/2024), Waheed is on the verge of 5,000 runs over the three formats with 7 hundreds and 18 fifties, in a career spanning 140 matches.

Waheed broke into professional cricket back in March 2012, making his List A debut for Rawalpindi Rams. He made an immediate impression, striking a match-winning 81* to defeat Sialkot Stallions to kick start his career.

A few months later (Aug 2012), he would travel to Australia for the ICC Under-19 World Cup, and the following year (Aug 2023) would play in the Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup for Pakistan U23s.

Thereafter, Waheed has been a first-class regular for various teams either side of COVID. His most recent of his 7 red ball centuries came during the 2022/23 season, where he averaged 57 in the QeA Trophy.

The Pakistani run machine has also been a stand-out performer abroad with 6 UK club stints. Last summer he excelled in the Nottinghamshire Premier League for Collingham and District hitting 687 runs at 52.85 alongside 28 wickets at 18 with his off-spin. Over this 6 seasons (as listed on play-cricket), Waheed boasts 3,591 runs at 37.02 and 149 wickets at 20.49.

The batting all-rounder is now keen to return for yet another stint in 2025. It’s envisaged Waheed will, once again, be available for the full UK season given his exclusion from the PCB’s 150-man list for the proposed domestic tournament next summer (May-Aug 2025). A high-class performer, Waheed will travel with his family for the 2025 season.
