Fazle Mahmud Rabbi is a veteran batting all-rounder (SLA spin) who has graced the Bangladesh domestic scence for over two decades.

Since his List A debut in January 2004, Rabbi has gone on to play over 320 matches and is on the verge of 12,000 runs across the three formats. He boasts impressive batting averages, particularly in first-class (33.09) and List A (37.66) cricket, with 21 centuries between them.

Whilst known for his batting in the top order, he has been a handy left-arm spinner throughout his career with 63 wickets and best performances of 4-55 (FC), and 3-18 (List A), respectively.

Surprisingly, despite his domestic dominance, Rabbi has only featured for Bangladesh in 2 ODI’s, coming against Zimbabwe in October 2018. He earned his cap following an impressive tour to Ireland (Aug 2018) with the Bangladesh A side.

Whilst Rabbi has not featured since, he has continued to churn runs aplenty in domestic cricket. Post COVID, he has been a stand-out performer in both red and white ball cricket. In List A cricket, in-particular, he has starred with season tallies of 537 runs at 48.81 (2021/22), 863 runs at 53.93 (2022/23), and 492 runs at 32.80 (2023/24) with 4 of his 11 List A hundreds during this period.

A high-class performer, Rabbi is now looking to travel to the UK for what will be his maiden club stint in 2025. Recommended by none other than former Bangladesh skipper, Mohammad Ashraful, Rabbi represents a fantastic acquisition for any club side.

As Bangladesh selector, and former national skipper, Habibul Bashar, states, Rabbi is the “complete package” and we suspect he’ll be a sought after commodity for the 2025 season.
