Dilan Jayalath is an accomplished batting all-rounder playing for Nugegoda Sports & Welfare Club in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.
Jayalath boasts an impressive career spanning 70 plus domestic matches since his debut for Sinhalese Sports Club during the 2016/17 season. He has racked up nearly 2,000 runs with averages in the mid 20s (FC & List A), with a highest score of 203* against Kandy in August 2022.
A schoolboy prodigy, Jayalath’s exploits for Trinity College, when becoming the first player from the Central Province division to score over 1,000 runs in a season, culminated with Sri Lankan Under-19 selection. He toured England with the side in 2016 playing 2 Tests and 3 ODIs. Jayalath opened the batting alongside both Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando, in a side that also featured international players including Charith Asalanka, Ashen Bandara, Lahiru Kumara, Praveen Jayawickrama and Wanindu Hasaranga.
Since then, Jayalath has played for a string of domestic sides, and more recently for Dambulla in the National Super League. He is set to play for Nugegoda Sports club this summer.
Whilst known for his explosive batting from the top order, Jayalath is a useful operator with the ball, with his off spin being used in both first-class, and List A cricket.
The talented batting all-rounder is now eager to showcase his skills abroad in 2025. We strongly recommend him to any club seeking a quality professional, who we expect to excel.
