Dilshan Abeysinghe is an exciting fast bowler playing at the highest level of Sri Lankan domestic cricket.
A skilfull seamer, with the ability to move the ball late, Dilshans career is gathering momentum as someone with the ability to compete for higher honours. He made his first class debut in 2017 for Sinhalese Sports Club in the Premier League Tournament and made an instant impact, snaring 3/44 in the first innings, including the wickets of Sri Lankan internationals Lahiru Madushanka and Ashan Priyanjan. He then went on to make his T20 and List A debut in 2019. In 2021, he was a major part of the Sinhalese Sports Club team which one the T20 Tournament, spearheading the attack to their first completive trophy since 2005.
He has been part of the Sri Lanka fast bowling academy and in 2024 , he represented Dambulla in the National Super League. He is capable off hitting speeds around the 85 mph mark and would be quite the handful in UK conditions. Whilst known primarily for his bowling, Dilshan is also capable of providing some lower order power and backs himself to contribute runs whilst overseas.
With a professional best of 5/39, the ability to bowl genuinely fast and also a qualified fitness coach, we reckon Dilshan could be quite the signing for 2025.
