Sheran Fonseka is a bright young talent who is at the start is what is envisaged to be a long and successful professional career.
An elegant top order batter/keeper, he is also capable of bowling off spin and would be a genuine all rounder in club cricket. He is now beginning to establish himself at the top tier of domestic cricket in Sri Lanka after years of dominance at junior level. Under the captaincy of Sri Lankan international Dhananjaya Lakshan, Sheran is featuring across all formats for Colombo Colts Cricket Club and was part of the team which won the T20 Championship in 2023, no mean feat at just 22 years old.
Sheran was educated at the famous St Josephs college in Colombo, the starting point of many a Sri Lankan cricketer over the years and it is envisaged that he will be the next name to make it to the top following his time at the school. In fact one such former pupil is the legend Chaminda Vaas, who recommends Sheran as someone who would be an excellent overseas professional.
Not just a talented cricketer, he is a genuinely nice human being. He is humble, polite and extremely driven to reach the very top of the game and would be an absolute pleasure for any club to host this summer.
