Oraine Williams is a high-class professional currently playing for the star-studded Jamaica side which plays home to no less than a dozen Windies internationals.
A prolific top order batter, who keeps wicket at domestic level and bowls seam-up in club cricket, finally broke into professional cricket in April 2017 after lording the Jamaican club scene over the past decade.
To date, he’s only played 11 first-class and 4 List A matches (as at 04/08/21), but the fact he’s involved with the Jamaican squad is a sure sign of his undoubted quality.
The run machine, who has racked up over 3,000 runs with 7 centuries for Central Titans, plus even more with home club St Catherine’s in the JCA, has also enjoyed plenty of success abroad.
He has played for Vybes Sports Club and Queens United Sports Club in Atlanta and New York, respectively in recent years, following two outstanding stints in Northern Ireland.
Turning out for Eglinton in the North West Cricket Union (2015-16), he churned out runs and wickets in the Premier League and did likewise for the North West Warriors in Ireland’s Inter-Provincial Competition.
In his last season for Eglinton (2016) he chalked up 778 runs at 55.57 and took 33 wickets at 16.03, backing up his impressive statistics during his maiden UK season for Eglinton in 2015 (732 runs at 31.83 and 41 wickets at 16.48).
A high-class player, who comes highly recommended by various sources, Williams is seeking USA opportunities moving forward.
