Skelmanthorpe is delighted to announce the signing of Sri Lankan star, Shehan Madushanka, for their Drakes Huddersfield League campaign.
An explosive all-rounder
Madushanka is an exciting seam bowling prospect for Sri Lankan cricket. A genuine quick who doubles as an explosive batter in the lower to middle-order, Madushanka has already featured in a few Sri Lankan international matches is remains in the mix for future selection.
ODI debut hat-track
Such was his promise; the all-rounder was picked to tour Zimbabwe with the Sri Lankan Emerging Players in August 2016 – making his first-class debut against the Zimbabwe Development XI. He has since represented the Sri Lankan Board, Development and ‘A’ sides before playing his solitary ODI match for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh, taking figures of 3-26, including a hat-trick with the wickets of Mashrafe Mortaza, Rubel Hossain, and Mahmudullah. He followed up with two T20 matches for his country in February but hasn’t featured since.
Skel sign Shehan
Nevertheless, the strapping quick continues to ply his trade for the star-studded Badureliya side in Sri Lankan domestic cricket and aspires to return to the national fold in the future. For now, though, the pace-bowling all-rounder is set to embark on his maiden UK league stint in 2020 having recently signed with Skelmanthorpe for their Drakes Huddersfield League campaign.
