Following the recent signing of Leicestershire star, Harry Dearden, Glossop has scooped another signing in the form of Bangladeshi professional, Ruman Ahmed.
Ahmed is a talented batter and useful off-spinner, who recently relocated to England on a spouse visa to join his British Wife.
Now based in Oldham (Lancashire), the former Bangladeshi domestic professional is looking to make waves in English club cricket over the next few years.
Domestic run machine…
Ahmed played first-class cricket for the best part of a decade, playing 39 matches since his debut in 2009. During this period, he scored 1,614 runs at 26.03 with a century (106) and 10 fifties.
He enjoyed three prolific seasons, hitting 349 runs at 38.77 (2014/15), 375 runs at 41.66 (2015/16), and 226 runs at 25.11 (2016/17), but only featured in 3 first-class matches thereafter.
A former Bangladesh Under-23’s representative, Ahmed was a star performer in the Sylhet League, hitting 2 double centuries in 50-over matches. He was also part of Sylhet Divisions victorious National league campaign in 2018/19.
