Ali Waqas is, quite simply, a run-scoring machine. A proven domestic performer, Waqas has been a stand-out across the three formats scoring well over 7,500 runs since his debut in 2008/09.

He has enjoyed several barnstorming Quaid-e-Azam Trophy campaigns, with his 2012/13 season the most prolific (1,065 runs at 48.40).

Between 2009/10 and 2014/15, Waqas struck all 8 of his first-class centuries, culminating with Pakistan A inclusion in 2015.

Whilst his domestic numbers have tailed off since, he continues to perform well for Balochistan, alongside the likes of Yasir Shah, Imran Farhat, and CricX stars Azeem Ghumman, and Awais Zia. Over the past two QeA campaigns, Waqas has struck 433 runs at 33 (2021/22), and 232 runs at 33.14 (2022/23).

However, it’s perhaps his recent UK exploits that have shot him to prominence as one of the best batters currently available on the market.

Waqas has enjoyed four prolific UK stints, where he has been the stand-out batter.

In 2018, he topped the ECB Yorkshire South Premier League run charts for Doncaster Town (943 runs at 52.39), before doing likewise in the Bassetlaw League for Welbeck the following season (1,167 runs at 97.25). Over the past two seasons, the Pakistani run machine has enjoyed brief stints with Wolverhampton (2021), and Felling (2022).

Waqas is quite simply one of the best batters on the circuit who is now contemplating his options for the future.
