Manisankar Murasingh is an exceptional all-rounder currently playing for Tripura under former Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha's leadership.
A sharp opening bowler, and hard-hitting left-handed middle-order batter, Murasingh has dominated State cricket in recent years. Since his Ranji Trophy debut during the 2009/10 season, he has taken 275 wickets at 27.88 and scored 3,646 runs at 27.41. He has taken 14 five-wicket bags, with best match figures of 10-159, and boasts 4 centuries, including a highest score of 150.
Murasingh has been a reliable performer over the years, with his 2019/20 Ranji campaign his most prolific. The seamer finished inside the top 5 wicket-takers in the Ranji Trophy, taking 49 wickets at 17.02, with three 5-wicket hauls. He also cracked 2 centuries amongst 598 runs at 42.71.
Post COVID, he has been a Ranji Trophy stand-out, bagging tallies of 11 wickets at 25.54(2021/22), 21 wickets at 36.61 (2022/23), and 30 wickets at 14.13, alongside 296 runs at 32.88 (2023/24).
In white ball cricket, Murasingh has excelled in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, finishing amongst the leading wicket-takers with 16 poles at 11, alongside 155 runs at 25.83 last summer.
Murasingh really is a class act who, over the past two years (Sept 2022, June 2023) earned selection for East Zone in India's Duldeep Trophy. During the latter, he bagged figures of 5-42 (20) in the quarter-final of the Duldeep Trophy.
He has also excelled in UK club cricket, initially for Todmorden (2022) in the Lancashire League (480 runs at 36.92 and 24 wickets at 31.04), then two barnstorming seasons for Philadelphia (2023-24) in the North East Premier League (1,620 runs at 47.65 and 80 wickets at 12.29 - as at 31 July 2024).
