CricX are delighted to announce Surrey Hills Cricket Club‘s double-signing of Alex Cree & Charlie McMurran for the 2023/24 Season.

Cree is a talented top order batsman from Yorkshire, England.

Cree is a gifted right handed batsman who currently plays for Methley Cricket Club in the famous Bradford Premier League. Having opened the batting in the Bradford Premier League since he was 15 years old, Cree is now seen as one of the most sought after young cricketers in the county.

Having gone through the age groups finding great success for Yorkshire CCC, Cree was offered an Academy contract by the county. During the 2022 season Cree made 169 not out in the Bradford Premier League and 125 for Yorkshire Academy in the same week. After these outstanding performances he made his county 2nd XI debut for Yorkshire CCC against Leicestershire CCC 2nd XI in the 2nd XI county championship at just 17 years old.

McMurran is an exciting right arm seam bowling all-rounder from Yorkshire, England.

Charlie has developed through the Yorkshire CCC ranks, representing the county at all age groups from u10s to 18s level. After impressing on the Emerging Players Programme in 2022, he earned himself an Academy contract for Yorkshire CCC in 2023 and has also represented their Second XI numerous times over the last 2 seasons. With a high score of 45 not out and picking up a handful of 2 wicket hauls.

2022 really was a breakout year for the young all-rounder, he broke into Bradford Premier League powerhouses Methley Cricket Clubs 1st XI on a regular basis and also was the leading wicket taker for the Yorkshire Academy side. The quick also represented North of England 17s and was one of the standout players at the National Super 4s comp.
