Heathcoat is pleased to announce the signing of South African speedster, Jesse-James Albanie, ahead of their 2024 Devon Premier League campaign.
Albanie is an exciting, and promising quick bowler playing professional cricket for the Limpopo Impalas in South African domestic cricket.
Albanie originally made his professional debut for the North West Dragons in the CSA 4-Day Competition back in November 2021. However, this summer he has switched to the Limpopo Impalas in a view to securing more game time.
In only his third first-class outing for the Impalas (Jan 2024), he would stun Easterns by taking career-best figures of 10-108, bagging five-wicket hauls in both innings (5-55, 5-53), to bowl his side to victory.
Albanie’s first innings 5-55 including 4 of Easterns top 5 batters, including notable run-machines Wesley Marshall, Mark Pearse, and Shaylen Pillay. In the second (5-53), he would bowl out the skipper, Kabelo Sekhukhune, take two further middle-order wickets, and then return to clean up the tail on his way to his 10-wicket haul.
An aggressive quick, Albanie bowls with genuine heat and swings the ball away from right-handers. With the bat, whilst he occupies lower-order positions in professional cricket, he is more can capable with recent first-class scores of 21 (v Knights), and 24* (v Border) evidencing this.
Albanie is quite the prospect who, now having made his mark in South African professional cricket, is eager to impress abroad in 2024 having recently signed with Heathcoat for their Devon Premier League campaign.
