Northop Hall is delighted to announce the signing of Afghanistan spinner, Nawid Kabir, for their 2024 Liverpool and District Cricket Competition season.
Kabir is an exceptional left-arm spin-bowling talent from Afghanistan.
A star in the making, Kabir represented his country at U19 level in 2018/19, notably playing alongside Shafiqullah Ghafari who, by way of context, bagged 100 wickets for Richmondshire (NYSD) in 2022.
A schoolboy prodigy, Kabir broke into first-class cricket during the same 2018/19 season, before COVID stunted his domestic progress.
Nevertheless, a barnstorming Mirwais Nika Regional 3-Day Tournament in 2022 (14 wickets at 14.42) culminated with a first-class return, this time for Pamir Legends in 2023.
Whilst in the infancy of his domestic career, Kabir has shown signs that he has all the tools to push for international honours.
He will bide his time, though, and in a view toward his ongoing development is set to travel abroad in 2024 having signed with Northop Hall for their Liverpool League campaign.
