CricX are delighted to announce Toongabbie Cricket Club’s signing of Wicket-Keeper/Batsman Sean Pickles for their upcoming 2023/24 season.

A confident and capable stumper, the 21-year-old has made over 100 appearances for Whitkirk Cricket Club first team, currently playing in the Yorkshire Premier League – North Division. Also a right-handed top-order batter, Sean has showed consistent improvement year on year since his 1st XI debut back in 2017.

In 2022, Pickles showed his ability more than ever, the youngster amassed 662 league runs at an average of 41.38. On top of this, Sean represented his University of Nottingham, scoring a BUCS hundred against Oxford University, ultimately leading to a first team call up for his Uni.

An adaptable and enthusiastic batsman, Sean is capable of batting anywhere in the top five. However, he has scored most of his runs batting at 4, priding himself on been an elegant stroke maker. Pickles’s wicket-keeping is exemplary, and we see him as a cricketer who is reliable in all facets of his game despite his young age.

The CricX team would like to wish Sean and everyone at Toongabbie CC all the best for their upcoming season.
