Abin Matthew is a highly skilled seam bowler currently representing Puducherry in the Ranji Trophy, India's premium domestic first class tournament.

Somewhat of a late bloomer, Abin did not make his first class debut until 2022, aged 25. He earned selection through performances at state level and he is now proving worthy of his place at the top table with some excellent performances. He has a first class best of 5/39, taken against Delhi and is now being used across all formats by Puducherry and proving to be a genuine spearhead to their attack.

Some guys come across our desk who just make you think straight away that they will be an excellent UK cricket professional, and Abin is definitely one of those. He swings the ball late and hits the seam at decent pace making him absolutely perfect for UK conditions, he would be a real handful (check out his video footage). Combine his skill level with the sheer heart and passion he displays whilst bowling and he really does become a serious option for clubs in 2025.

He has aspirations of playing at the highest level, but for now is setting his sights on a club cricket stint to not only help develop his own game but pass on his strong experience to team mates and junior players alike. We recommend Abin strongly for any club looking for a highly skilled, driven and passionate seamer next summer.
