Anurag Sarangi is a high-class batter playing for Odisha in Indian domestic cricket.

Since the 2014 season, the Odisha legend has been a stand-out performer and has now played well over 100 matches for the State.

Throughout his career, Sarangi has excelled particularly in the first-class (Ranji Trophy) and List A (Vijay Hazare Trophy) formats, averaging 30.72, and 36.09, respectively.

He has enjoyed several barnstorming campaigns, averaging 50+ in two Vijay Hazare (2014/15: 60, 2016/17: 57.80) and 45.18 during the 2022/23 Ranji Trophy season.

An academic, who aspired to work in engineering, Sarangi was a late starter in our great game. He was influenced to trial with the State U19s, and such was his promise, he was selected, and the rest they say his history.

Sarangi has gone on to forge a dominant domestic career with the bat, but he is also a more than useful off-spinner, albeit under-utilised for Odisha due to the strength of the spin within the squad. He is also a leader-of-men, skippering Odisha sides for 3-years.

The accomplished batting all-rounder headed abroad in 2023 to showcase his skills in UK club cricket - it's fair to say, he excelled. Playing for Woodford Wells in the Essex League, after a delayed arrival he was one of the leagues stand-out all-rounders, featuring towards the top of both batting and bowling charts (547 runs at 49.73 and 27 wickets at 14.52).

After a season's hiatus, the Indian star is open to a UK return for the 2025 season and is someone that'll be a sought after acquisition.
