Chathura Lakshan is an accomplished all-rounder playing for Galle Cricket Club in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.
Since his first-class debut during the 2017/18 season, Lakshan has played well over 60 matches across the three formats and scored 700 plus runs alongside 70 plus wickets with his off-spin.
A genuine all-rounder, Lakshan has developed into Galle’s premier off-spinner who bats in the middle-lower order. Last summer (2022/23), Lakshan enjoyed arguably his best Major Tournament (FC) to date taking 12 wickets at 24.41 alongside 133 runs at 19, not to mention impressive bowling numbers in both white ball formats – 17 wickets at 20.47 (List A), and 7 wickets at 7.71 (T20).
Hailing from the strong Devapathiraja College, with whom he excelled in the All Island Schoolboy competitions (645 runs at 79 wickets during his final season), Lakshan was part of the Sri Lanka Army Sports Club U23s in 2014 but had to wait for a further 3-years to break into first-class and T20 cricket for current club, Galle.
Since then, though, he has not only cemented his spot but established himself as one of domestic cricket’s prominent off-spin bowling all-rounder’s.
The talented Galle all-rounder is now looking to showcase this talent in UK club cricket next summer.
