Derval Green is an experienced all-rounder playing for the star-studded Jamaican side in West Indies domestic cricket.
He has been a stand-out performer for his country since his debut in 2015. In a side that features a raft of Windies internationals, Green has been Jamaica’s “go to” seamer, particularly in first-class cricket with season tallies of 15 wickets at 31.26 (2016/17), 27 at 25.81 (2017/18), 19 at 18.26 (2018/19), 22 at 24.86 (2019/20), 11 wickets at 21.27 (2022/23), and 13 wickets at 28.07 (2023/24).
In recent years, Green has also become a key performer in the middle-lower order, hitting 200 runs at 22.22 (2018/19), 263 runs at 29.22 (2019/20), 169 runs at 33.80 (2022/23), and 174 runs at 24.85 (2023/24), in recent seasons.
His exploits have been recognised with Windies honours, representing their ‘B’ side at the inaugural Global T20 in Canada (July 2018). It was this selection that curtailed his English summer for Carlisle in the North Lancs and Cumbria Premier League. Prior to his departure, Green was ripping up the league with 25 wickets at 10.52, alongside 199 runs at 28.43 which included his explosive 94 in the Higson Cup against Cockermouth, which plays home to Ben Stokes.
The following year (2019), he was part of the Chris Gayle-lead Jamaica Tallawahs for the Caribbean Premier League, before his barnstorming WICB Professional Cricket League Regional 4-Day Tournament success (2019/20).
Green, who has also excelled in various American tournaments in recent years, is an outstanding cricketer who after a strong full stint for Scottish club Ayr last season (333 runs at 22.20 and 22 wickets at 12.86), is now eager to secure another UK club opportunity in 2025.
