Dulaj Bandara is a fantastic batting talent playing for the star-studded Ragama Cricket Club in Sri Lanka’s Major League Tournament (first-class).
The youngster, who excelled for Dharmaraja College (Kandy), broke into the Ragama first team in March 2022 and has impressed. He struck 67 against Badureliya on debut, then struck his maiden first-class fifty (74*) against Burgher Recreation Club in September 2022. Bandara has had several starts since – 47 v Police SC, and 31 v Kandy CCC, and it seems only a matter of time before he chalks up his maiden century.
Regarded as one of the best fielders in the Ragama set-up, Bandara also bowls useful leg spin and it’s envisaged he’ll become a genuine all-rounder in future.
The talented youngster is now looking to play UK club cricket in 2025. He’s hoping to follow in the footsteps of his Ragama teammates who have all dominated in UK conditions. Skipper Janith Liyanage, Avishka Tharindu (a ton v Surrey for SL Emerging Players), and Dinesh Thimodya (who dominated in the Southern Premier League in 2022 hitting 1,212 runs at 75.75).
The youngster is a potential star for the future who is looking to excel in UK club cricket in what will be his maiden stint in 2025.
