Ed Wade (21) is an exciting and destructive cricketer from Yorkshire, England.

Wade has a strong background in both club and university cricket. He began his career at South Wilts CC, progressing through all junior levels to the first team. Representing Wiltshire from the age of eight, he consistently led the batting charts and earned selection for the ECB Talent Identification Day at Loughborough. He was part of the Wiltshire EPP and also advanced to Hampshire’s EPP, scoring five centuries at age-group level, including a score of 217 against Cornwall U18 in his final youth game.

Attending Millfield School on a cricket scholarship, his playing opportunities were curtailed by COVID and injury, but he gained experience in Premier League cricket with Clevedon CC, helping them win the West of England Premier League. Moving to Yorkshire, he played for Acomb, scoring 570 runs in his first season in the Yorkshire Premier League North, and later joined Clifton Alliance.

At Cardiff University, he captained the side to the BUCS National Trophy title and became the university’s all-time leading run-scorer, amassing 764 runs at 41, including a standout 152 against Oxford University. He also excelled in the Cricketer Cup, finishing as the competition’s top scorer in 2022.

His most recent season saw him score 977 runs at 41 across all competitions, including 759 league runs, while also taking 27 wickets. His performances were instrumental in Clifton Alliance securing their first Yorkshire League title.

The batter is now keen to secure a club in Australia for the winter... No doubt a player that will be in high demand.
