Nimesh is a talented Sri Lankan batting all-rounder with extensive professional and overseas experience. A middle-order batter and brisk seam bowler, he has played 63 professional matches in Sri Lanka between 2016 and 2022, representing sides including Panadura Sports Club, Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club, and Kalutara Town. Across 30 first-class matches, he averaged 26.97 with the bat, while in 16 List A games he averaged 31.63.
A former schoolboy prodigy, Nimesh captained each of the age-group sides at the prestigious Royal Pandura College, later leading the Sri Lanka Under-15 team and serving as vice-captain for the Under-17s on tours to Malaysia and the UK. He was also named in the preliminary Sri Lanka Under-19 World Cup squad, narrowly missing out on the final touring party.
Nimesh has made a significant impact abroad, beginning with his maiden UK stint in 2021 for Home Counties Premier League club Finchampstead, where he averaged 28.33 with the bat and 25.21 with the ball. He followed this with a successful second stint in 2022 for Killyclooney in the North West Cricket Union.
Since then, he has excelled in English club cricket, first with Maghull Cricket Club in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition—scoring 639 runs at 30.43 and taking 25 wickets at 15.72—and more recently with Potterne in the West of England Premier League, where over two seasons he has compiled 1,772 runs at 49.22 and claimed 45 wickets at 24.84 (as of 14 August 2025).
