Mandeep Singh is a hard-hitting batter right out of the top drawer seeking UK club cricket in 2025. The former Indian international and IPL star also benefits from accommodation with his British wife in Newcastle-on-Tyne.
A domestic stand-out for over a decade, Singh has represented India in 3 T20I’s (2016), has played 100+ IPL matches (RCB, KKR, Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals), has featured for North Zone (Duldeep & Deodhar Trophy), and is a Punjab legend with over 300 games and 10,000 plus runs.
Incredibly, Singh’s father, an athletics coach, did not approve of his son’s cricketing ambitions. But, what can you do when your son becomes one of the leading young batters in the country and goes on to be appointed India U19 vice captain in the 2010 World Cup.
Since then, he has forged an impressive domestic career, with 19 centuries and highest score of 235 at the point of writing. He averages a tick below 50 across 99 first-class games, and has averaged 50+ in 8 Ranji Trophy campaigns, and recent tallies of 696 runs at 69.60 (2019/20), 358 runs at 179 (2021/22), and 551 runs at 45.91 (2022/23).
Despite his consistent run of scores, with a cumulative first-class average of 64.76 since his last T20I for India, he hasn’t returned to the national fold. India’s loss, though, was a huge gain for Yorkshire Premier League club Hull Zingari, who secured Singh's services for the back-end of the 2024 season.
Whilst known for his run-making, Singh is also a very handy medium pacer. He enjoys rolling the arm over and has been very effective over the years, particularly in white ball cricket with 14 wickets at 32.71 and 16 wickets at 21.06 in List A, and T20 respectively.
Singh represents one of the best overseas players on the market right now. An absolute run churner who will be one of the sought-after commodities for UK club cricket next summer.
