Missy Banks is an exciting prospect playing for the Canterbury Magicians in New Zealand Women’s domestic cricket.
Despite her age, Banks has enjoyed significant success in her fledgling career to date. At 15, she made her List A debut (February 2017), and has since played 110 matches for Canterbury. She has also skippered the New Zealand U19’s (February 2021), and was involved with the NZ North v South match (March 2023).
It’s been sparking start to Banks’ cricketing journey. Not only has she performed well individually, to include an array of accolades (Canterbury Women’s “Bowler” and “Players’ Player” of the Year in 2021/22), she has been an integral member of the Magicians Hallyburton Johnston Shield (2016/17, 2021/22), and Super Smash (2021/22, 2022/23), titles.
A pace bowling all-rounder of some pedigree, Banks aspires to break into the national side in the not too distant future.
In a view to pushing her game to the next level, Banks ventured abroad in 2024. She played for North East powerhouse South Northumberland where she excelled in the Northumberland Women's Cricket League scoring 300 runs at 75 alongside 11 wickets at 9.82. She was also instrumental in the coaching department throughout summer.
For 2025, Banks is seeking another UK opportunity and is someone we strongly recommend.
