Nipuna Gamage is a proven Sri Lankan batting all-rounder with over 60 domestic appearances between 2016/17 and 2022/23. A stylish and technically sound left-hander, he has compiled 1,415 first-class runs at 26.20 with two centuries and six fifties, alongside useful off-spin that has yielded wickets across all formats. His domestic career has seen him represent Kalutara Town, Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club, and Sebastianites, with notable performances in first-class, List A, and T20 cricket.
His cricketing journey began with standout age-group performances for Moratuwa Sports Club and Burgher Recreation Club U23s, followed by representing the International College of Business and Technology at the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals in India in 2015/16, where he reached the semi-finals. Overseas, Gamage has built an impressive record, beginning with a standout maiden UK stint for Hatherley and Reddings in 2019, scoring 602 runs at 33.44 and taking 22 wickets at 16.77 in the West of England Premier League. A return in 2021 brought similar success, with 544 runs and 22 wickets in all competitions.
From 2022 to 2024, he dominated for Brooke in the Norfolk Alliance, amassing 1,688 runs at 35.17 and 60 wickets at 27.43, before heading north to Scotland in 2025 with Renfrew, where he produced 349 runs at 24.93 and 20 wickets at just 14.10 (as of 13 August 2025).
Equally comfortable anchoring an innings or accelerating the scoring, Gamage’s ability to contribute with both bat and ball makes him a valuable asset in all conditions. With a wealth of domestic and overseas experience, he now has his sights set on a UK return in 2026, bringing reliability, versatility, and match-winning potential to any side.
Note: Gamage's eligibility window for UK club cricket (based on 5 FC matches in the last 36 months) remains open until 30 Sept 2025.
