Nisala Tharaka is an accomplished Sri Lankan seam-bowling all-rounder with over 200 domestic matches under his belt.
The skilful right-arm paceman boasts an enviable record across the three formats, namely 213 wickets at 31.41 (FC), 86 wickets at 30.69 (List A), and 46 wickets at 20.17 (T20), respectively.
He has also been a key performer with the bat from the lower-middle order, hitting 11 half-centuries in domestic cricket to date.
During his illustrious career, Tharaka has represented Sri Lanka A (2014/15-18/19, 2022) alongside a number of club sides, most recently Sinhalese Sports Club.
Tharaka has excelled across the formats in recent years – topping Galle and Colts wicket-charts in both the 2018 Super Provincial One Day Tournament and 2018/19 Premier League Tournaments, respectively.
He has also starred in league cricket, taking 56 wickets at 19.02 alongside 925 runs at 33.04 in the South Yorkshire League for Conisbrough in 2017, before helping Seaham Harbour to promotion in the Durham and North East Premier League in 2021 (802 runs at 47.18 and 34 wickets at 15.12).
The experienced Sri Lankan seamer/bat, who in March 2020 picked up the wickets of Denly and Stokes whilst playing for the Sri Lankan XI against the touring England side, is now looking for further opportunities abroad.
Tharaka is, without doubt, one of the best seam bowling all-rounders on the market and someone we strongly recommend for the 2024 season.
