Owain Baxter is an exciting young batter who predominately opens the batting and bowls leg spin. He currently plays for Swansea cricket club and representative cricket for Wales u18’s.

Since making his debut at the age of 13 for Wales u13’s he has now played over 80 times where he has excelled. After many impressive performances he found himself frequently playing for the older age groups before earning himself a spot on the batting skill groups with Glamorgan academy. As a result he has represented the Glamorgan Academy side on many occasions and had the privilege to train throughout the winter with the Wales Minor counties side and go on their pre-season tour with La Manga.

Owain also enjoyed success last year for Swansea, winning the South Wales Premier League, runners up in the Welsh cup, SWCA cup and SWPCL cup and getting to the last 4 of the ECB T20 cup. The talented young batter has also been successful in previous years, winning the Daniel Radcliffe division one trophy for his former side Llanelli and had a very successful run with the Wales u16’s in the ECB cup reaching the quarterfinals.

The exciting young batter is yet to reach his full potential yet, given the opportunity to play outside Wales it could help project him into the professional scene.

Owain will head to Melbourne this winter having signed with Middle Park Cricket Club for the 2024/25 Cricket Southern Bayside campaign.
