Pramud Hettiwatte is an exciting batting all-rounder (spin) who previously played for Ace Capital Cricket Club in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.
He moved to Ace Capital post COVID for the 2021/22 season, following stints with Nugegoda (2019/20), Badureliya (2018/19), and Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club (2017/18).
The hard-hitting batter has impressed in recent seasons, particularly during the 2019/20 and 2022/23 first-class seasons striking 461 runs at 38.41, and 484 runs at 37.23, respectively. Whilst known for his batting, he was a key performer with the ball at schoolboy and provincial level, bowling his left-arm spin.
Hettiwatte skippered Nalanda College (Colombo) and was involved with the Sri Lankan spin squad, evidencing his all-round ability. He starred at provincial Under-19 level, particularly with the ball, taking 89 wickets at 18.04 across the three formats. He has played in the Premier Under-23 tournament for several years and, has excelled with bat and ball.
The talented Sri Lankan has also enjoyed success in the UK over the past two seasons. In 2022 for Bradford League club Pudsey Congs (876 runs at 39.82 and 13 wickets at 23.31), before his 2023 season with Kent League's Cowdrey (750 runs at 41.67 and 13 wickets at 18.08).
Hettiwatte now lives in Melbourne (Clayton), and has just finished a season playing for Hampton Cricket Club in the Cricket Southern Bayside comp. The Sri Lankan under performed by his standards with 230 runs at 23 and 10 wickets at 20.
The all-rounder is now keen on a fresh challenge having settled in Melbourne and eager to showcase his skills moving forward.
