Rashmika Dulanjana is a promising batting all-rounder who played 18 domestic matches in Sri Lanka, up till November 2022.
During his final summer (2022/23) he played for Sri Lanka Navy alongside CricX stars including Adeesha Nanayakkara, Asantha Singappuli, Vinodh Perera, and Navin Kavikara.
He struck 245 runs from the middle-lower order with an average of 20.41, with the highlight – a quick fire 56 against an attack featuring Sri Lankan spinners Lasith Ambuldeniya, and Sahan Arachchige.
With the ball, opportunities were fairly limited in red-ball cricket, but he did impress during the T20 campaign taking 7 wickets at 16.85, all with an economy rate of 6.37.
A player who comes highly recommended, Dulanjana broke into professional cricket following an outstanding MCA campaign whereby he was named 2022’s best batter and was the season’s MVP. He was subsequently picked for Navy to play first-class, and the rest is history.
The talented youngster also set sail for his maiden UK stint last summer, and enjoyed a tremendous season for Oakamoor in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League. 607 runs at 31.95 and 39 wickets at 13.05 with 2 five fors (BB 5/19) and an incredible 59-ball 107* to chase down Porthill Park's first innings tally of 121 was remarkable.
Now the Sri Lankan all-rounder is keen for another UK stint in 2025 and given last summer's exploits, he'll be a strong option for any club next season.
