Rashmika Madushanka

Rashmika Madushanka is a promising Sri Lankan domestic player currently representing Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club. A talented top-order batter and accomplished wicketkeeper, Madushanka has quickly built a reputation as exciting young prospect, and one to keep tabs on moving forward.

He burst onto the professional scene in November 2021, debuting as a teenager in Sri Lanka’s Major Clubs Limited Overs Tournament (List A), where he struck a composed 28 against Nugegoda. His early promise has since been backed by strong performances across formats.

A product of Mahinda College, Madushanka enjoyed a stellar schoolboy, district, and provincial age-group career. His transition to first-class cricket came just nine months after his List A debut, making his Major League Tournament (first-class) debut against Burgher Recreation Club. Since then, he has notched several notable scores including 47 (v Moors), 40 (v Ragama), 91 (v Kurunegala Youth), 46 (v KTC)* and 55 (v Sinhalese Sports Club). As of now, he has amassed 671 runs at an average of 29.17 from 17 first-class matches.

To further his development, Madushanka spent the 2023 season abroad with Dumbleton Cricket Club in the West of England Premier League. It was a standout stint—he compiled 1,098 runs at 39.21 across league, cup, and friendly fixtures. Additionally, when not donning the gloves, he contributed with the ball, capturing 22 wickets at an impressive average of 12.36.

Now a qualified coach, Madushanka combines playing potential with leadership and mentoring ability. Focused on continuous growth, he is seeking another overseas opportunity in 2025, aiming to build on his already impressive résumé and continue progressing toward his ultimate goal of representing Sri Lanka at the international level.
