Shantanu Mishra is an accomplished batting all-rounder skippering Odisha across the three formats in Indian domestic cricket.
Since his Ranji Trophy debut (Nov 2017), where he struck scores of 36, and 49, against Mumbai, he has gone on to score almost 3,000 runs, the majority coming in red-ball cricket (2,411 runs at 37.09).
Recommended by former Indian opener, and English club cricket legend, Wasim Jaffer, Mishra has been a Ranji Trophy stand-out, hitting season tallies of 272 runs at 45.33 (2017/18), 354 runs at 27.23 (2018/19), 540 runs at 38.57 (2019/20), 268 runs at 44.66 (2021/22), 581 runs at 52.81 (2022/23), and 372 runs at 28.61 (2023/24).
Whilst bowling opportunities in first-class have been limited, he is a regular in white-ball cricket, with 12 wickets at 28 in List A cricket bowling economical off-spin.
During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, the Indian star also enjoyed plenty of UK league success. In 2022, playing for Hylton in the Durham and North East Cricket League he struck 719 runs at 55.31 alongside his 17 wickets at 17.82. On his return, this time for North Devon in the Devon Premier League he struck 532 runs at 40.92 in all cricket for the club.
Courtesy of his domestic success, Mishra returned home in July 2023 to play for East Zone in the Duldeep Trophy, so clearly this is evidence he's treading the right path towards higher honours.
The Indian run machine is now eager to secure yet another UK stint in 2025 and is someone who has all the ability to absolutely excel next summer.
