Umar Nazir Mir is a Jammu & Kashmir legend who has graced India's most northern State for a decade.
Since his Ranji Trophy (FC) debut back in December 2013, Mir has bagged neigh on 200 domestic wickets, all with an average below 29.
Either side of COVID, Mir has become J&K's pace bowling spearhead courtesy of impressive Ranji Trophy tallies in 2018/19 (26 wickets at 27.84), 2019/20 (28 wickets at 23.03), and 2022/23 (14 wickets at 22.28).
Courtesy of his domestic exploits, Mir has generated national recognition with both India C (Deodhar Trophy - Oct 2018) and North Zone (Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy - Feb 2017) inclusion.
As it stands, Mir boasts exception figures across the three formats with the ball, namely 113 wickets at 31.72 (FC), 54 wickets at 28.83 (List A), and 32 wickets at 19.40 (T20).
However, he's no one trick pony, as whilst Mir is pigeonholed as a pacer, he has a more than useful batter in the lower order with numerous scores between 20 to 40 in 5 of his last 7 Ranji seasons.
The J&K veteran is a class act who, having never ventured to Northern shores, is eager to experience a UK summer in 2024. Given his pedigree, we feel he will offer plenty to whatever club he joins next season.
